American Red Cross
The American Red Cross provides disaster relief and emergency assistance to individuals and families affected by home fires, severe weather, floods, and other disasters. The Red Cross also helps communities prepare for emergencies and provides services including disaster recovery assistance, blood collection, health and safety training, and support for members of the military, veterans, and their families.

Andwell Health Partners provides residents across Maine with high-quality home health, hospice, and supportive care. They are fully Medicare-certified and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Inc.
As Maine’s largest independent, nonprofit care-at-home agency, Andwell’s expanded service area now encompasses all 16 counties in the state. They provide critical, compassionate clinical care, palliative support, and end-of-life services directly to residents in our community.

Buckfield Community Church Food Pantry
The Buckfield Food Pantry provides food assistance to individuals and families in the Buckfield area. The pantry is open on the second Wednesday of each month from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Residents seeking food assistance or additional information may contact the pantry directly.

LifeFlight Foundation
The LifeFlight Foundation is the nonprofit fundraising organization that supports LifeFlight of Maine, the state’s nonprofit emergency medical helicopter and critical care transport service. LifeFlight of Maine brings advanced medical care, specialized equipment, and highly trained medical teams directly to critically ill and injured patients throughout Maine and provides rapid transport to appropriate medical facilities when needed.
Support provided through the LifeFlight Foundation helps sustain and advance LifeFlight of Maine’s aircraft, medical equipment, training, facilities, and emergency medical services.

Maine Public is a statewide nonprofit public media organization providing Mainers with free access to trusted news, educational programming, cultural content, public affairs information, and emergency communications through television, radio, and online services. Maine Public supports communities by providing educational resources for children and families, reliable information on issues affecting Maine residents, and access to emergency alerts and other important public information. The Progress Center is a nonprofit organization providing services and supports to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Safe Voices
Safe Voices is a nonprofit organization serving individuals and families affected by domestic abuse and sex trafficking throughout Androscoggin, Franklin, and Oxford counties. Services include confidential advocacy, safety planning, support groups, assistance navigating the court system, information and referrals, emergency shelter assistance, and community education.

Our services include nutrition, education, counseling, and homecare coordination. Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services
Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services (SAPARS) provides free and confidential support to individuals of all ages and genders affected by sexual violence. SAPARS serves Androscoggin, Franklin, and Oxford counties and provides services including a 24-hour helpline, one-on-one advocacy, support groups, assistance at hospitals and with law enforcement or court proceedings, prevention education, and connections to other community resources.
Individuals do not need to report an incident to law enforcement in order to receive support from SAPARS.

Spurwink
Spurwink provides behavioral health, mental health, substance use, case management, and support services to children, adults, and families throughout Maine. In 2024, Tri-County Mental Health Services joined Spurwink, allowing the organization to continue providing behavioral health services previously offered by Tri-County in Androscoggin, Franklin, Oxford, and surrounding counties.
Spurwink’s services include outpatient behavioral health care, children’s and adult services, case management, behavioral health homes, residential programs, and other community-based supports. The Behavioral Health Home office formerly located in Oxford is now located in Norway and provides case management services for eligible children and adults.

Veterans Crisis Line
The Veterans Crisis Line provides free, confidential support to Veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and those who care about them. Boston Post Cane
The Boston Post Cane is a unique New England tradition dating back to 1909, when the Boston Post newspaper distributed engraved, ebony canes to towns across Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. These special canes were to be presented to the oldest living resident in each community as a mark of honor and respect.
Here in Buckfield, we continue to celebrate this tradition by awarding the Boston Post Cane Award to our town’s eldest resident. The recipient holds the cane as a symbol of longevity, history, and our town’s appreciation for their place in our community. When the current holder passes away or moves, the Boston Cane Award is passed on to the next eldest resident.
We take great pride in honoring our elders and their life stories, and the Boston Post Cane is one of the ways Buckfield recognizes the wisdom and contributions of our most senior community members.
